Its a good spot for vacation only but not for event planning. Resort needs to work harder on their hosting capabilities. The only good thing was that most of my guests were enjoying themselves and did not pickup on everything, which is why I am leaving three stars. It wasn't until my return home that I realized that it was never frozen at all so it had rotted in the luggage. I had requested the concierge to freeze some of my cake the night before my departure and pack it, but they failed to do so as I discovered the next morning. Exceptional Service! Most of the staff is very courteous, but it seems that although they say "Yes" and can converse in English, however, they do not understand your request at all. He went out of his way for us and helped out a lot, even at times when I did not initiate a request, he asked me and got it out of me and then took care of it. I do not think I would return to this resort, if not for him. There were a lot of these little sad things that kept happening which made me sad during the trip, but the one silver lining was our butler, Mogueson (aka "Moe"), who I would give 5 stars to and him alone. To be fair, some of our guests were late so the ceremony did start late and the wedding coordinator did make allowances for that thankfully. Our colored markers which we brought to sign our guestbook were all stolen so guests could not sign during reception. Our cake requested instructions with music was completely out of whack to what I had wanted. I had requested to talk to the DJ ahead of time to clarify all the requests I had made as I had spent hours poring over each song and marked the start and end points for the ones headlining certain events, but was repeatedly reassured by my wedding coordinators that nothing would go wrong. We were promised a guitarist during the ceremony but none appeared. Our first dance song was edited and sent to them ahead of time, however that version was not played so we had to wing it. The bride processional song I had chosen was somehow played twice at the same time with a lag which made it come out all garbled. The spa customer service was much better in person so I wonder if it was a language barrier problem. I had to stop emailing the spa and asked the wedding coordinator's help for flexibility. There are certain things they do not fine print on the wedding guide, such as couples massage is included, but once you are asked to email the spa directly, they only offer you times of 8am, 9am or noon and that's it. They really need to cut down on the number of weddings they do,or else hire more staff, or ensure that the wedding coordinator is available on the wedding/cocktail hour/reception sites the whole time to prevent lapses in the requests that were made. I was disappointed with how little my requests were properly fulfilled as requested, even on what I had sent in ahead of time on their wedding planner form or on emails to the wedding coordinator. They will leave you stranded)/resort staff/family. I was there from Nov 14th till 19th but got only 2 hours of beach time overall, because of the time I spent after various vendors (Apple Vacations/Cheap Carribean - absolutely terrible customer service. I just had my wedding there on and it was quite a stressful time. ![]() ![]() ![]()
